Best Shopify Popup Apps in 2026: 10 Compared on Price, Free Plans and Features

The best Shopify popup app is the one whose pricing fits your traffic, because most of these apps do the same core job: an email or discount popup, a spin to win wheel and an exit intent trigger. If you already send email with Klaviyo, start with its free signup forms. If you want popups, spin to win, bars and timers at a price that does not climb with traffic, ProveSource Boost is free to start and Pro is $24 a month with no view limit. This guide compares 10 Shopify popup apps on free plan limits, pricing and the features merchants ask about. Every price, rating and limit was checked on October 6, 2026.
One disclosure first: ProveSource Boost is our product, so it is listed first.
What to look for in a Shopify popup app
Most comparisons stop at features. These three things decide what you will actually pay and get.
The pricing metric. Apps charge by pageviews (Privy, OptiMonk, Wisepops), visitors (Poptin, Alia), impressions (OptinMonster), email profiles (Klaviyo), widget views (ProveSource Boost) or a flat fee set by your Shopify plan (Pop Convert). A store with 20,000 visitors can easily have 60,000 pageviews, so the same store lands on very different tiers. Check your Shopify analytics for both numbers before you compare.
What the free plan really includes. Some free plans lock spin to win or exit intent behind a paid tier, some cap new subscribers, and some add the app’s branding. Black Friday is the worst week to find out.
Klaviyo sync. If your email runs on Klaviyo, a native integration puts each signup on the right list with its form fields. Going through Zapier or a CSV adds a step that breaks quietly.

Ratings are the Shopify App Store score and review count; Boost is new and has none yet. “Not listed” means the app’s own App Store page and help pages do not mention it, not that we tested and found it missing.
The 10 Shopify popup apps
1. ProveSource Boost
ProveSource Boost is a set of conversion widgets: email and discount popups, spin to win wheels, scratch cards and gift picks, announcement bars, countdown timers and WhatsApp buttons. Every widget type and every trigger is on every plan, the free one included.

A few things are built for Shopify specifically. A free shipping bar reads the Shopify cart and shows what is left to spend in the shopper’s currency. A code won on a wheel or shown after signup can be applied to the cart for the shopper, so they do not have to copy it. Leads go to Klaviyo lists natively, to any webhook (Zapier works) or to your inbox, and views, clicks and signups show up as events in your own GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta pixel and TikTok pixel. If no template fits, the AI widget builder writes a custom widget from a sentence.
- Free plan: 3 widgets, 1,000 widget views a month, every feature, unlimited leads, 3 AI credits a month, a small ProveSource badge
- Pro: $24 a month or $195 a year for unlimited widgets and views, no badge and 30 AI credits a month
- Install: paste one line in
theme.liquid, and every widget you build later appears without touching the theme again
2. Shopify Forms
Shopify Forms is Shopify’s own free app. You get popup and inline forms, up to 25 per store, with triggers on the first, second or third pageview, a delay, device and page type, and exit intent on desktop. Signups go into your Shopify customer list, and the app works with Shopify Email.
- Rating: 4.5 from 739 reviews
- Price: free
- Limits: no multi-step forms and no conditional logic. Spin to win and a Klaviyo integration are not mentioned in its listing or help pages
The catch: one kind of widget, and exit intent does not work on phones, which is where most store traffic is.
3. Klaviyo signup forms
If your email already runs on Klaviyo, its signup forms are included on every plan, the free one too. Klaviyo’s own pages mention spin to win forms and exit intent, and signups go straight into Klaviyo with no sync to set up.
- Rating: 4.7 from 3,353 reviews
- Free plan: up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month
- Paid: priced by profiles, from $20 a month for up to 500 and $30 for up to 1,000. Traffic does not change the price
- Popup limits: Klaviyo does not say which form features are on which plan
The form and the welcome email live in one place. The catch: the price rises with your list, not your traffic, and it only does forms. Countdown timers, free shipping bars and WhatsApp buttons need something else.
4. Privy
Privy combines popups with email and SMS. You can buy the popups alone (Pop Ups and Displays) or with email.
- Rating: 4.5 from 4,207 reviews
- Free plan: none, a 15-day trial with no card
- Popups only: $24 a month for 10,000 pageviews, $48 for 25,000, $84 for 50,000, rising to $1,140 at 2.5 million
- Email plan: from $30 a month for 1,500 contacts
- Klaviyo: native
It sends the email and SMS too. The catch: the popup price grows with every pageview tier, so at 50,000 pageviews it is $84 against Boost’s $24. More in our Privy comparison.
5. Pop Convert
Pop Convert has the most App Store reviews of any app here and the simplest pricing: one Unlimited plan whose price depends on your Shopify plan, with no visitor or popup limit.
- Rating: 4.9 from 8,718 reviews
- Free plan: 1,000 unique visitors and 50 subscribers a month, popups and smart bars
- Unlimited: $15 a month on Basic Shopify, $29 on Grow, $79 on Advanced, $129 on Plus, up to 5 stores, 90-day free trial
- Features: spin wheels, exit intent, free shipping bars and banners. A developer reply on its listing mentions new AI popups
- Klaviyo: not listed among the apps it works with
The catch: no Klaviyo integration listed, and the price goes up when your Shopify plan does.
6. Poptin
Poptin puts its gamified popups and exit intent on the free plan, which many apps do not.
- Rating: 4.9 from 342 reviews
- Free plan: 1,000 visitors a month, one domain, Poptin branding
- Paid: Basic $25 a month for 10,000 visitors, Pro $59 for 50,000 (or $20 and $47 billed yearly)
- Klaviyo: native, among 70+ integrations
The catch: from $25 a month at 10,000 visitors to $59 at 50,000, where Boost Pro stays $24. See our Poptin comparison.
7. OptiMonk
OptiMonk has the largest free plan on this list and says there are no feature gates between plans: spin to win, exit intent and its AI agent are on every plan.
- Rating: 4.8 from 459 reviews
- Free plan: 10,000 pageviews a month, one domain, all features
- Paid: Essential $29 a month for 20,000 pageviews, $39 for 30,000, $59 for 50,000. Growth starts at $99 for 100,000. Yearly billing is 25% less
- Klaviyo: native
OptiMonk’s pricing page says it adds no branding on any plan, while its Shopify listing lists “Unbranded” as an Essential feature, so check the free plan on your own store. The catch: past 50,000 pageviews the next step is $99 a month, against Boost’s flat $24. See our OptiMonk comparison.
8. Wisepops
Wisepops is built for larger stores: popups, embedded widgets, notification feeds and web push, with an AI popup builder and AI product recommendations. Its listing describes it as a popup builder for email capture, upsells and cart recovery.
- Rating: 4.9 from 71 reviews
- Free plan: none, a 14-day trial
- Paid: its Shopify listing shows one plan, $299 a month or $2,990 a year for 500,000 pageviews. Its own site sends you to book a demo
- Klaviyo: native
It suits large stores that want a sales team and upsell campaigns. The catch: $299 a month is a lot for a store with 50,000 pageviews.
9. Alia
Alia focuses on the quality of the signups: AI-powered popups for email and SMS, quizzes that collect what a shopper is looking for, and gamified popups. Every plan has every feature.
- Rating: 4.6 from 114 reviews
- Free plan: none, a 14-day trial
- Paid: $100 a month for 20,000 visitors, $200 for 50,000, $300 for 100,000, 25% less billed yearly. A Fully Managed tier starts at $400
- Klaviyo: native
The catch: at $100 a month for 20,000 visitors it is the second most expensive app here.
10. OptinMonster
OptinMonster is better known on WordPress, and it shows: its Shopify listing has 16 reviews and a 2.6 rating.
- Free plan: none. Its site has a 14-day money-back guarantee, its Shopify listing a 30-day free trial
- Paid on its site: Basic $21 a month for 2,500 impressions, Plus $57 for 10,000, Pro $87 for 25,000, Growth $147 for 100,000. Yearly plans are $9, $27, $37 and $67 a month in the first year, then renew at $210, $570, $870 and $1,470 a year
- Paid on Shopify: one Growth plan at $49 a month
- Feature gates: exit intent from Pro, the coupon wheel only on Growth, Klaviyo from Pro
The catch: the features most stores want sit on the top plans. See our OptinMonster comparison.
Best pick by goal
- Growing an email list on Klaviyo: Klaviyo’s own forms first. If you want wheels, bars and timers next to them without a second email tool, ProveSource Boost sends its leads to your Klaviyo lists.
- Email and SMS from one app: Privy.
- Black Friday: something that can run a bar, a countdown and a wheel together, scheduled for the sale dates. Boost does all three on the free plan, with Black Friday templates on the Black Friday popup page. Black Friday is November 27, 2026, and October is when to build it.
- A free shipping bar: Boost’s bar reads the Shopify cart and shows the amount left, and Pop Convert lists free shipping bars too.
- Upsells and cart recovery on a large store: Wisepops, if the budget fits.
- Flat price as traffic grows: ProveSource Boost ($24 a month, no view limit) or Pop Convert ($15 to $129 by Shopify plan).

Whichever app you pick, show the popup after the visitor has seen something: a few seconds in, half a page down, or as they leave. Our 23 pop-up examples list the trigger and frequency behind each one, and the exit intent guide covers the last-chance offer.

How to add a popup to Shopify in 3 minutes
These are the steps for ProveSource Boost. The free popup generator page shows the templates first.
- Sign up at boost.provesrc.com with your email. There is no password and no card. Pick what the widget should do, for example Grow my email list.

- Pick a look, type your offer and discount code, and click Create it. The live preview redraws as you type.

- Under Display rules, choose when it opens, such as when the visitor is about to leave, how often it can come back, and who sees it. Leave
/checkoutout so it never interrupts a purchase.

- To send signups to Klaviyo, open Integrations, paste a Klaviyo private API key and pick a list on the widget.

- On the Install step, choose Shopify and copy the tag. In Shopify, go to Online Store, Themes, click the three dots by your live theme, then Edit code. Open
layout/theme.liquid, paste the one line just above</body>and save. Every widget you build later shows up without touching the theme again.

Open your store in a private window to see it. The install page notices the first view by itself and tells you it is live.
Build your first popup free. The launch post has more on what else is in Boost.
